Disaster RecoveryEnterprise Challenges - Ensuring the availability and timely recovery of file data in the event of a catastrophic failure.
- Centralizing and simplifying the administration of file replication requirements across a heterogeneous file storage infrastructure.
- Minimizing replication windows and bandwidth requirements in relation to a file data availability strategy.
The Acopia Solution
Adaptive Resource Switch (ARX) products from Acopia allow the enterprise to create disk-based replicas of file data to support data availability and disaster recovery. Administrators can define file sets to be asynchronously replicated across a network of Acopia switches within the enterprise.
Distribution can occur at regularly scheduled intervals or as file content changes, with only the file changes being transmitted. Off-site replicas can be presented and accessed by the user in a read-only fashion to ensure the availability of data, but these replicas can be quickly promoted to a read/write state in the event of a data center failure. The powerful and flexible replication features of the ARX greatly enhance the availability and timeliness of enterprise data recovery programs.

Benefits of the Acopia Solution
- Enables the replication of file data across heterogeneous file storage platforms to deliver maximum storage purchasing flexibility.
- Minimizes replication windows and wide area network bandwidth requirements by distributing only file changes.
- Allows off-site replicas to be readily available as a read-only namespace for user access, thus ensuring data availability.
- Lets data centers serve as both a source and/or a target of replication services, thus providing tremendous flexibility for the overall data availability strategy.
- Centralizes the management of the enterprise data availability strategy across multiple data centers and heterogeneous file storage vendor platforms.
